SUPER PUMPED: THE BATTLE FOR UBER tells the story of one of Silicon Valley’s most successful and most destructive unicorns, Uber. The season pivots on Travis Kalanick (Gordon-Levitt), Uber’s hard-charging CEO who was ultimately ousted in a boardroom coup, and his sometimes tumultuous relationship with his mentor Bill Gurley (Chandler), the plainspoken, brilliant Texan venture capitalist who bets his sterling reputation on Uber’s success – and then has to live with the consequences. Thurman stars as Arianna Huffington, the savvy businesswoman and co-founder of The Huffington Post, who was an Uber board member. The SHOWTIME series will depict the roller-coaster ride of the upstart transportation company, embodying the highs and lows of Silicon Valley. Even amid the radical upheaval generated within the global tech capital, Uber stands out as both a marvel and a cautionary tale, featuring internal and external battles that ripple with unpredictable consequences.

  1. I was curious what this racist documentary was that so many on here are crying about. I looked into it. I got it. I see how it is. I suppose you think this series is a celebration of Travis Kalanick and an exposé of how unfairly he's been treated. Cuz it ain't.

  2. The people running Uber now are pieces of garbage. They now keep over 80% of all delivery and ride fees and give their drivers less than 20%. The manipulation they inflict on customers and drivers should have the executives in prison for putting the driver's lives in danger. They intentionally will push out really terrible payouts when a driver is within a quarter of a mile from a destination as the driver is trying to find the drop off location, normally in a neighborhood or high traffic area. It should be 100% against the law because it has resulted in thousands of accidents and some deaths. Yet, Uber executives are marketing & sales monsters who do not care.

  3. Why are they already making tv shows about Uber? Wasn't the company born just yesterday, relatively speaking? Let a generation 50 or 100 years from now create a show about it, otherwise the show has less meaning.

  4. watched first two episodes, and Tk came off so evil, its only saddening me, not inspiring at all. If this is how leaders are "meant" to be, we rather stay behind

  5. You stupid people. I am the father of Uber. Mckenzie secret. When I would talk to my cousin Danka in Germany years ago, whatever I called him he would call me back with Uber on the end of it, or to the side rather. You smell, Danka would say, "you Uber Smell." The person who can prove it was in an email is Lt. Kev Mckenzie. I am pretty sure Kev's dad already collected our share. I really don't know what happened with the company. Dr. Bush, Laura Bush's father would probably know too. Bunch of fools. Later

  6. I am sure it is great entertainment. In the real world, all Uber has done is taken thousands and thousands of taxi cab driver jobs, across the country and turned them from $20 – $25 per hour jobs into $12 per hour jobs, so that an aggressive businessman can steal money produced from the labor of thousands. If you think the figures are off, you are forgetting to calculate not only gas costs, but car depreciation and upkeep. Factor that in, these are jobs that are just slightly above minimum wage.

Guess what? The vast majority of super powerful, super rich businessmen are just a bunch of greedy thieves with zero morality.

We need to wake up and stop thinking of low lifes like this guy, Steve Jobs and on…as heroes. They are not. They would sell their own grandmothers to make an extra nickel. Not our heroes.

  7. Scriptwriter Pitch…Lets make a boring story about online booking for taxis but ramp it up with 300% bullshit drama & action scenes, make him look like a sensational revolutionary icon of the century like Steve Jobs, put in some elements from movies like Wolf of Wall Street and Facebook! Hollywood is truly dead these days….

  8. Tell me about your biz model: Well, it's basically an app based, on-demand taxi cab service serviced by the private sector. How do you monetize it?: Well, it will thrive on continuous investment rounds from VC's, but will never actually generate enough revenue to stand alone. Sounds like the perfect unicorn? Oh yeah, it's a Silicon Valley darling for sure
