THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE | Official Trailer | Searchlight Pictures

Now Playing in Theaters

THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE is an intimate look at the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. In the 1970s and 80s, Tammy Faye and her husband, Jim Bakker, rose from humble beginnings to create the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and theme park, and were revered for their message of love, acceptance and prosperity. Tammy Faye was legendary for her indelible eyelashes, her idiosyncratic singing, and her eagerness to embrace people from all walks of life. However, it wasn’t long before financial improprieties, scheming rivals, and scandal toppled their carefully constructed empire.

THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE | Official Trailer | Searchlight Pictures

  1. A place where kids can feel safe LOL choke molestations. The scariest thing living on Earth is the continued bizarre beliefs of so many that defy common sense and logic. Thankfully Tammy had some sense. What utter nonsense the world follows.

  2. Just watch this movie I think they made her look like a victim when she was just as much responsible for it as her husband. And I think they just got her side of the story because the husband was dead. And I think that's what they did with the Temptations

  3. Jessica Chastain did an incredible job acting as Tammy Faye. She'd be proud to have been represented as she truly was, a real life woman of God who only believed in love and forgiveness.

  4. I love Jessica Chastain but she seems miscast here. Same with Andrew Garfield. This looks like an SNL sketch. Bernadette Peters played Tammy to perfection some time ago (can't remember the film's name.)

  5. Just watched it. I’m surprised at all the buzz Jessica Chastain is getting and how little Andrew Garfield is getting. She grew on me over the course of the film, though it often felt like a (bad) caricature. He was brilliant, though.

  6. I remember this time. The media made her look way worse than she really was. They certainly made me not care for her. The image was bad. In truth She deserved more support than she got. Honestly, people picked on her about her makeup as if she robbed a liquor store or something. SNL use to rag very hard on her. Watching this movie, I felt bad for her. But they left out the fact that Tammy got married to Mezner.. after she divorced Jim. Her name became Tammy Faye Mezner. I have thankfully never contributed to any of these ministries, PTL, Jerry Farewell, 700 Club. None of them.

  7. It appears Tammy Faye was a good person, a little to splurgey then necessary, but all and all a good person. Jim Baker was the douchebag and deserved to be dethroned, he used Tammy. And she wasn't really the one screwing around. He was. All she was looking for was companionship. He treated her very badly and used her. Jerry Farewell was a two faced back stabbing dog. You think these people are real Christians and all he wanted to do was go after PLS 20 million viewers. What, he couldn't trust God to have him make due with 3 million viewers. We should have all be preaching to him. I wouldn't even want to be affiliated with his ministry in anyway after seeing this movie, I don't care if he.s dead or alive. He s an embarrassment to the faith.

  9. Loved the movie and Jessica did a amazing job it was a great movie!! And …. I didn’t even knew who was Tammy Faye!!! I saw old clips of her and I was speechless about Jessica’s performance!

  10. Most if not all of televangelist are either narcissist or sociopaths. The people that send money to them are marks. Tammy is no different from any other person that got duped by a narc they married. It never turns out well for that person.

  11. Rebuke and correct, but also learn to love, forgive, and restore
Two things we learn from Jim Bakker's scandal and Jimmy Swaggert's scandal is don't be high-minded when someone falls from grace because the next time you can find yourself in the same position and that God forgives and restores. How easily some people forget King David's mistakes, though he was a man after God's own heart he still committed iniquity.
