The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – SDCC Trailer

Discover the legend that forged the rings. September 2 on Prime Video. #TheRingsOfPower

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

  1. "Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an elf"

"What about side by side with a morb?"

Truly one of the quotes in the movie.

  2. Boy just what we have all been waiting for a gay version of lord of the rings now i can die a happy man lmao

  3. Check out the Brazilian trailer with flying warrior Galadriel. No wonder they haven't shown it here, it's hilarious.

  4. Of all of the intellectual properties available, why on earth did you think it was a good idea to change the canon of Tolkien? This is the most hard-core sci-fi fan base around, simply because we’ve had the same source material to pour over for decades we know it front to back, we know Tolkien‘s vision for middle earth, now we know that Amazon does not respect or share that vision. This is all really disappointing, a total waste of money, and much too politically driven. If you guys put as much effort into researching token and writing a good story as you did into inserting diversity then I may have given it a shot. I will be completely ignoring this show, and instead will reread the appendices.

  5. My favorite part was when the Lord of the Rings said "It's Lordin' time" then started to Lord all the Dunmer in Azeroth.

  6. When Galadriel told the Sauron, “My body, my choice” and then turned and told the orcs “My pronouns are they/them” I was so inspired! But When she killed that white dude while yelling “representation!” I knew this was for me…

  7. Where is my representation? WHEREEEEEE??????? WHY NOT APACHE HELICOPTERS THERE? WHYYYYYYYY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  8. I’ll pass they went woke.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

  9. Принципиально не буду смотреть это толерантное овно

  10. When Elrond told the Ninja Turtles, “Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.” Absolutely incredible.

  11. I loved when Galadriel threw that air tank into Sauron's mouth and then shot it with her rifle, blowing bits of Sauron everywhere. EPIC

  12. When Gil-Galad starts yelling "What's in the box? What's in the box?" and Morgan Freeman replies "This is precisely the sort of thing that no one ever believes" – so deep! So meaningful!

  13. The part where the hobbits jump into the bobsleigh and shout "feel da riddim, feel da rhyme, get on up, its bobsleigh time" is flawless.

  14. The part where bugsy malone said " pass this to baby face" .. and it was just a huge middle finger….. I was crying…. yes I'm old……

  15. i got chills when galadriel said she drinks her urine because it's sterile and she likes the taste. Can you believe Tolkien wrote that way back in 1954! simply extraordinary

  16. Why has everyone in the comments missed the truly inspirational moment when the female Doctor pulls Galadrial into the Millennium Falcon proclaiming: "where we're going, we don't need roads!"

  17. The part where Sauron fight vs Night king, and after all impale Voldemord head before Barad'dur, Awesome!!!

  18. That scene where Galadriel on a horse jumped out in front of the unsuspecting orc army and said "hello there" and the orc general answered "general Galadriel" – so intense and funny

  19. The part where the old man said, "Have you heard of him lad? Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis, the Wise?". Brought a tear to me eye.

  20. Personally I liked when Gandalf said to Elrond "Take your stinkin' paws off me, you damned dirty elf!"

And the plot twist at the end, when (spoiler) we see the destroyed statue of liberty, and we learn that it was earth all along, I was on the edge of my seat! Some expert storytelling from Mr Tolkien!
